Program Note
This work is an arrangement of a small set of piano miniatures I’ve worked on-and-off since I started composing. As the title suggests, they are playful in nature and aren’t meant to be taken too seriously. Each movement focuses on a type of dance or moments of dance, and each one has something about them that is off kilter to what is typically expected of those dances.
